The Parades in the summer have been great fun! In the past, we've been in the Everett Jaycees' Community Fourth of July Parade. Lots of families joined in the fun.

We have "hijacked" a Lighthouse student at the beginning of the parade route to join us on the float. All of the kids seem to have a great time. We hand out lots of flyers and see so many friends in the audience. The parade committee sent us a lovely thank you note complete with a picture.

The Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival Parade day started out gloomy with clouds and rain. That greatly affected our numbers. But a few hardy and determined families showed up with their enthusiasm. Some had never participated in a parade before! While Susy had to rush back home to pick up more than a few items, the group persevered with float assembly and sprucing up. Their efforts paid off!

We've even won first place!

THANK YOU to all the families who helped make the Summer of 2006 a great parade summer for Lighthouse. You showed up early, had wonderful ideas for designing, building, and decorating the float. You willingly drove the float car, housed the float at your home, enjoyed the walking and riding, blew bubbles, waved, smiled and showed up!

It is families like you who show Everett what familiy involvement is. You all deserve a blue ribbon!
